We celebrated one year as the Palouse Heritage Network at Eclair’s Coffee Shop in Tekoa. We all agreed that it has been helpful to have each other to share ideas, and our challenges, with each other.

This next year each museum is going to focus on making connections with their local schools to see how we can support and add value to the history curriculum. We will continue to network to link to tourism and chamber online sites, and publish our brochure and map.

Touring the Tekoa museum

Harry and Connie Brandt, standing against the wall, answers PHN members questions abut the museum.

After the meeting, Connie and Harry Brandt took us on a tour of the Tekoa Museum, located in the community library on South Crosby.

What a hidden treasure! The display space is much larger than any of us realized, with a mezzanine and basement area in addition to the main room. A field dental chair, sleigh, giant bellows, cheese cutter, and crystal radio set were just a few of the wonderful items on display.

You definitely want to put this museum on your list.
