Built in 1927, this unique Spanish style depot was the design choice of Cheney mill owner, Clarence D. Martin.  Mr. Martin complained to the NPRR about the deplorable condition of the 1881 train depot. As an important customer, the railroad let him choose this design which was not standard for the northwest division. Cheney native, Clarence D. Martin served as Washington’s governor 1933-1940.
